Film por Vida goes to London

The group photography show from members of Jai Tanju’s Film por Vida print exchange program is traveling to London this summer. After a successful run at New York’s FUSE Gallery last year, the show will be on view at Wayward Gallery June 16 - 27.

Film por Vida is an exchange of photographic prints through the mail by over 200 photographers from around the world. In the last six years Jai has sent out thousands of photos to photographers, film lovers and artists in return receiving over 1,500 pieces of mail that will be exhibited in the show along with 26 framed photographs by:

Joe Brook, Tobin Yelland, Sam Milianta, Tim Irwin, Dave Schubert, Dan Boulton, Takeshi Abe, Brandon Fonville, J. Siegel, Jai Tanju, Ken Nagahara, Weston Colton, Brad Westcot, Greg Hunt, Dennis McGrath, Bryce Kanights, Amanda Lopez, Isaac Randozzi, Mark Whiteley, Dave Franklin, Kingsley Ifill, Phil Jackson, Eric Antoine, Fabrizio Biviano, Espen Stokke and Ed Templeton.

Jai Tanju’s Film Por Vida: a Print Exchange Program opens Saturday

Film Por Vida: A Print Exchange Program will exhibit a collection of over 1,400 photographs Jai Tanju received though the mail during a 5 year period from hundreds of photographers, artists and film lovers. They will be presented in plastic slips and attached to the wall via string so that the viewer can turn the image over to see both sides at his or her leisure. Also on display will be 15 individually framed images by a select group of major Film Por Vida contributors.

Capture Brooklyn at powerHouse arena.

Brandon’s photograph Emerson Pl. near Park Ave. was chosen for Capture Brooklyn, a juried exhibition at powerHouse Arena as part of the DUMBO Arts Festival. The opening reception is September 24 and the show runs through October 15, 2010.
